People losing their minds over things some of next year's Year 7s will be younger than

Here's something to make you feel long in the tooth, some bloke on TikTok has been running through a list of things that some of next year's Year 7s will be younger than.

Josh Cullen might be a personal trainer but it seems like he does a decent sideline in saddling people with existential dread over how old they've become.

That's thanks to a couple of videos he posted where he rattled through things that the next academic crop of Year 7s, who are due to start secondary school in September, will be younger than.

Remember, to make it into secondary school you've got to have turned 11 by the time the term begins, so the oldest kids will be born in September and the youngest in August.

Josh's lists have been giving his viewers an existential crisis as they're realising just how old they've become, leaving them jokingly saying they 'feel violently ill' and that he's making them 'feel ancient'.

In fact, none of the kids in the age bracket to go into Year 7 next year will have been around at some of the most important moments of the early 2010s.

'Gangnam Style' was the first ever song to pass a billion views on YouTube, and that first released on 15 July, 2012, but this upcoming bunch weren't even born back then.

The 2012 Olympics in London started that same month and wrapped up on 12 August, meaning next year's crop of Year 7s missed the lot.

They also missed out on Macklemore's song 'Thrift Shop', which was quite the event back in the day let me tell you young'uns.

If you really want to feel old, the mobile game Flappy Bird was released on 24 May, 2013, so there are kids who will be part of next year's Year 7s who weren't even born when that released.

Flappy Bird celebrates its 11th birthday on 24 May, meaning if it was a person it'd be going into Year 7 starting from September this year.

Feeling old yet?

As if that wasn't scary enough, some of the kids following them in the next academic year are going to be older than a plethora of great things which released in the back half of 2013.

On 17 September, 2013 we got the magnificent Grant Theft Auto V, and while we're finally getting our first looks at GTA 6 it's been one hell of a wait.

Meanwhile, if we want to delve into the world of technology then the TikToker pointed out that the iPhone 5c came out on 20 September, 2013 and some of the Class of '25 won't even have been born when that happened.

A couple of months after it the PlayStation 4 released, which is frankly amazing as it doesn't seem like an old console at all, but it's been here for over 10 years.

As for Disney fans, you might be traumatised to learn that Frozen turned 10 on 6 December last year, so it'll be old enough to start attending secondary school in 2025.
