Whether you’re ashamed to admit it or proud enough to boast about it, plenty of lads have that one pillow they swear has been through it all with them.
Despite the several years of likely head sweat and becoming totally flat, they can’t let it go. And not to mention, it’s always yellowed.
One lad previously went viral and sparked a huge debate when he revealed the key to him getting a perfect’s night sleep to his girlfriend; The Yellow Pillow.

Cam posted a snap of his beloved yellow pillow to social media, admitting his partner was ‘mad’ at him but trusted fellow lads to back him up on the ‘magic’ of it.
Many will understand the comfort of a Yellow Pillow while a whole load of others will be disgusted by the idea of a probably very gross, yellowed, likely unclean and over used pillow.
Cam claimed his 'bestows upon me the most peaceful slumber'.
And as he predicted, fellow Yellow Pillow devotees backed him up saying they ‘legit hadn’t rested comfortably since’ getting rid of theirs.

But as people call it ‘f**king nasty’, just when is it really time to ditch The Yellow Pillow?
Mattress Clarity Writer Celeste Parker says that the main cause of yellowing pillows is moisture.
“Sweat and any moisture in your sleep environment is absorbed every night into your pillow,” she explains. This could be anything from sweat and wet hair to drool and face cream. Gross.

Celeste says: “If your pillow has minimal yellow stains, keeps your head and neck aligned and feels comfortable, it is probably still fine to sleep on.”
However, there is a limit and there will come a day to say goodbye to The Yellow Pillow.
“Over time, pillows flatten, collect bacteria and dust and become stained.

“When your pillow cannot fully support your head, smells like sweat or mildew after being cleaned or mostly loses its original colour, it’s time to replace your pillow. “
Good news though, if it’s not yet gone overboard with the yellowing, you can probably wash the stains out by either spot-treating them or throwing it in the washing machine.
And if you actually want to prevent those yellow stains, Celeste has three recommendations: “Use a pillow protector, use a good pillowcase and wash your pillow regularly.”
After going viral for his Yellow Pillow, Cam told NBC News he found the whole debate amusing and that he'd switched out his pillowcase once a year - but his girlfriend has since convinced him to stop using it and it has been safely 'tucked away into storage'.

Oh lads, just give it a wash.
