Seeing a friendly face among a crowd of strangers is something which always put us at ease when meeting new people - unless, of course, it's the father of your new fella who you recognise for all the wrong reasons.
A woman named Sheree knows exactly what it is like to feel the colour drain out of your face and your palms start to sweat when you run into someone you'd rather not have - especially if you're stood with your new man.
The New Zealand expat explained that if she ever had the chance to use the memory-zapping neuralyzer we've seen in Men in Black, she would have whipped it out and pointed it at her potential father-in-law without a second thought.

However, she didn't mind sharing the embarrassing anecdote with the entire world while ringing into Will and Woody's popular KIIS FM afternoon radio show to offer her experience up as part of their 'worst dates' segments. Take a look at this:
Sheree easily took home the crown for having the worst story after confessing to the most awkward date imaginable.
She explained that she had previously been in a relationship with a new guy for around three months and that they seemed to be going from strength to strength.

The next natural step for most couples who are keen to give things a proper go is obviously introducing their other half to their family - which usually goes one of two ways.
The radio caller, who met her new beau through a mutual friend, told Will and Woody that she was really looking forward to meeting her boyfriend's parents.
"I had never met his parents before, but he had told me a lot of stories about them," she told the hosts.
"He said he was really close to his dad, mum and entire family."

Low and behold, a family barbecue cropped up on the calendar and the day finally arrived for Sheree to pull out all the stops to impress her other half's mum and dad.
But it turned out she didn't have to make that much of an effort with his father, as she had already met him and, well let's say... showed off her talents beforehand.
Sheree explained: "So, I ended up going to the barbecue and... I recognised his dad. Turns out, I had met his dad in the past on a dating app. And I had dated his dad."

As the studio erupted into giggles and gasps, Woody asked the caller: "Oh my God, had you hooked up with the dad?"
A brutally honest Sheree then responded: "Yes, I did...in a park."
She didn't reveal any further information about the liaison she'd had with her potential father-in-law, or whether she confessed the news to her boyfriend - as to be frank, she couldn't get a word in among the fits of laughter in the studio.

But obviously, the clip of her detailing the cringeworthy barbecue went viral and racked up thousands of views.
Social media users found the whole saga hilarious, while reminding the woman that everyone has a past.
One said: "Keeping it in the family!" as another laughed: "We're all squawking like seagulls laughing at this."
A third joked: "The winner is you."
And a fourth added: "'Not awkward at all!"
While a fifth chimed in: "She made me realise that in life you don't have to judge your past with the opportunities you have now."
