Wetherspoons is normally the place you go to before the club, but in this case you can get your pre-gaming in before dancing the night away all in one place. Check it out:
We’re talking about The Mile Castle in Newcastle upon Tyne, a Wetherspoons that is a pub by day and club by night.

Music isn’t often associated with the pub chain, as many of its UK venues have a no music policy.
However, a select few of them convert into clubs in the evening, and of course you can’t have a club without some big tunes.
If you’re wondering how big, TikToker @seniora_melina shared a clip of her night at one of these hybrid Spoons.
Footage shows the packed out venue, with dance lights, a DJ and 'Destination Unknown' blasting in the background.

Text over the video reads: “Okay but since when did Wetherspoons become a CLUB???"
Hundreds of people have commented on the clip, with one writing: “I know the Mile Castle top floor on a weekend when I see it.”
Another tagged their mate and said: “Imagine you go to eat food and then there’s this.”

With a touch of jealousy some of you may relate to, a third said: “Ours don’t even have music.” Same here, friend, same here.
That being said, not everyone is a fan of the idea, with one stating: “Omg not Mile Castle, last time I went they played The Greatest Showman remix and I vowed never again.”
But overall the Wetherspoons nightclub has been received favourably by punters, and while it might be the first you’ve heard of it, turns out it’s been going for some time.
In a review written back in 2017, a TripAdvisor user commented: “Set on three large sized floors this a classic Wetherspoons with a twist.

“The usual cheap drink and food during the day but come night time this Wetherspoons turns into a nightclub. And a very good one at that.
“A great pre drinking bar as the normal cheap prices are still applied at night time. Close to several other bars in the city. Brilliant every time.”
The same goes for The Bishop's Mill in Durham, another of these pub/nightclub Spoons hybrids.

While many enjoy the buzzing nighttime atmosphere, one customer warned: “If you are hoping for a quiet evening's drinking perhaps this is somewhere to avoid.”
