Stanley Tucci, hands down, has to be one of the most under appreciated actors who has played countless iconic characters in his impressive career.
Despite being in the industry for more than three decades, the charming actor is maturing finer than a bottle of vino as he’s about to star in one of his most exciting roles yet.
And luckily for us, we’ll be seeing a lot more of him as Tucci is set to star in Prime Video’s upcoming globe-trotting spy espionage series Citadel.

The series follows a spy agency trying to fight against the powerful Manticore crime syndicate after falling from grace.
But before the show drops on April 28, we thought we would take a mo’ to appreciate Tucci and list all the reasons why we love him so. Tucci Gang unite!
1. He has an SNL song all about him
Speaking of Tucci Gang, this term was originally coined when SNL decided to dedicate a song entirely to the man himself.

With lead vocals led by former SNL star Pete Davidson, the comedian raps ‘Some of you don’t know the name, but that’s the guy from Hunger Games’ before listing off Tucci's impressive body of work.
Davidson adds: “I got mad respect for his range; he should’ve been Dr. Stranger.”
Honestly, we’re surprised this man hasn’t made his Marvel Cinematic debut.
As for Tucci’s response to the segment, the actor was incredibly flattered.

While appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he told the talk show host: “I didn’t know what it was based on. So my children had to explain what it was and showed me the video. I was like, ‘Oh wow, that’s good’. So, it’s brilliant, and I was very flattered.”
2. The guy has range
As discussed in the infamous Tucci Gang song, the actor has an exceptional range cultivating a resume of exceptionally diverse characters.
As an actor, Tucci has been in the industry for almost four decades, where he’s played everything from Master of Ceremonies in The Hunger Games to a terrifying predator in The Lovely Bones.

He’s also managed to snag five Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award, as well as a nomination for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Tony Award.
3. He’s a massive foodie
From 2021 to 2022, he hosted the CNN food and travel documentary series Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, where we explored six regions to uncover some of the finest dishes and wines.

As a third-generation Italian, Tucci returned to his roots and discovered the rich history of the areas he travelled to and how it impacted the region’s cuisine.
Not to mention, he’s also written two cookbooks, is the owner of Finch Tavern restaurant in Croton Falls, New York and has his very own TikTok channel where he documents all of his home cooking.
Is there anything this guy can't do?
4. He and Meryl Streep are best friends
I mean, the king is close friends with the queen herself. The two have starred in two films together - The Devil Wears Prada and Julie and Julia - where the dynamite chemistry bursts on the screen as it does off.
Tucci even had the great honour of being part of the collective that presented the actors nominated at the 82nd Oscars, in which he gushed about Streep.
“Meryl, what can I say? Like most people in the world, I’ve been in love with you for years and that the two movies we did together were the highlight of my career, that you were brilliant in both of them as you are in everything,” he said.
I simply cannot.
5. He’s related to John Krasinski and Emily Blunt
Yep, that’s right. Tucci originally met Blunt’s sister Felicity at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada.
However, the pair were reunited again in 2010, in Italy, for a wedding where they really kicked it off.
In 2012, the two wed in a private ceremony, officially making John and Emily his siblings-in-law.
During an interview with People magazine, Emily disclosed about her brother-in-law: "I love that Stan starts each day walking into the kitchen ... going 'Ah, Chrisssst,' probably from a sleepless night of small children being up or from a night where martinis flowed.”
But, she admitted, he’s a changed man once he has his espresso.
And honestly, feeeeeels.
Now that you know a little bit more about the man, the myth and the legend that is Stanley Tucci, you will love him even more in Citadel.
He plays Citadel’s tech genius Bernard Orlick. The character has created systems and technology to make sure the organisation can wipe out any enemy that poses a threat.
Make sure you don't miss out on Citadel, which drops on Prime Video on April 28. Start your 30 day free trial here.
