Dr Dawn Hughes is a clinical and forensic psychologist who was recently involved in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial, employed by Miss Heard’s legal team.
The trial has now entered its final week with a verdict looming, this is almost three weeks after Dr Dawn Hughes claimed that the actress in question "demonstrated very clear psychological and traumatic effects."
However earlier today, a day before the trial comes to a close, a psychologist employed by Mr Depp’s legal team rebuked the claims made by Dr Dawn Hughes earlier in the trial, stating that PTSD is “the most frequently feigned and claimed diagnosis in civil courts”, according to Sky News.

Speaking earlier in the month during the £38million defamation lawsuit, Dr Dawn Hughes commented that it was her opinion that Miss Heard’s “report of intimate partner violence” was consistent with the subject regarding domestic violence.
So who is Dr Dawn Hughes and why has everything she earlier testified to the Virginia Court been later disputed?
Dr. Hughes was raised in New York City and received a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in psychology. She also attained a Master of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

Dr Dawn Hughes was the very first witness to be called in Heard’s defence, which so far hasn’t gone swimmingly, telling the court that she conducted interviews, forensic testing and looked at medical records while she was diagnosing Miss Heard.
The psychologist employed by Mr Depp’s legal team, Dr Shannon Curry, disputed that Miss Heard has PTSD, and instead diagnosed the Aquaman actress with borderline personality disorder, something that Dr Hughes totally disagreed with.
Dr Dawn Hughes is said to have an estimated Net Worth of $1 million as of 2022, according to The Sports Grail, and has almost 30 years of experience as a psychologist.
