Everyone’s favourite enhanced misfit clone troopers are back with Bad Batch season 2…
The Star Wars animated series follows a group of highly skilled yet ‘defective’ clones after ‘the Clone Wars’ and Order 66. Not only do these five clones all have unique abilities when compared to their regular clone brothers, but they were also able to circumvent their inhibitor chip meaning they were able to not carry out Order 66 and murder the Jedi.
When Is Bad Batch Season 2 Release Date?
It has officially been confirmed that ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2’ will premiere on Wednesday, 28 September.
Advert
This release date means that ‘Bad Batch’ won’t only cross over with episode 6 of the upcoming Star Wars series ‘Andor,’ it will also cross with Marvel’s ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ Episode 7. This suggests that Disney has stopped trying to separate Marvel and Star Wars release dates. To be fair this is pretty much impossible given the amount of Star Wars content coming out at the moment. For example, Bad Batch will also be streaming at the same time as ‘Tales of the Jedi’, despite them both being a Clone Wars style animated ‘Star Wars’ series.
Trailer & Plot
Whilst the trailer doesn't give away too much, there are still a few exciting snippets. We see Emperor Palpatine in full swing stating to the galaxy that “It is time for the new era.” Another interesting aspect of the trailer is the addition of the Wookie Jedi student ‘Gungi’ who is seen equipped with a green lightsaber, it will be intriguing to see what his role will be in the new season.
Regarding the plot when speaking with The Convor Call, composer Kevin Kiner hinted that fans we’ll get to a slightly older Omega in The Bad Batch Season 2. The fact that the female clone is slightly older in season 2, suggests there may be a bit of a leap in time since the first installment.
Advert
We also expect to see plot lines from season 1 carry on into the new episodes, such as the conflict between CrossHair and his siblings. Additionally, the clones will have to make the decision on whether to join the rebels or if they should stay out of the conflict completely.
Cast
We are expecting to see all the major characters from the last season return, and looking at the rest of the cast this is what we expect to see:
- Dee Bradley Baker as The Batch and the rest of the clones
- Michelle Ang as Omega
- Rhea Perlman as Cid
- Noshir Dalal as Vice Admiral Rampart
- Gwendoline Yeo as Nala Se
- Stephen Stanton as Admiral Tarkin
- Ben Diskin as AZI-3
