Normally, if the first trailer for a game had come out five months ago, you would expect to know a few things about it.
Maybe some gameplay, a trailer or two more, a bunch of interviews, in some cases, the game may already nearly be out.
In the case of GTA 6 however, since the trailer was released, we have learned very little about the latest instalment in one of the most popular video game franchises of all time.

There has been no date for the game’s second trailer, let alone a date for the game’s release, and so the attention of fans has turned to dissecting every small thing the GTA bosses say and looking through the bins of Take-Two, the parent company behind Rockstar Games.
Now, however, new features in the game have been revealed thanks to someone looking through the companies proverbial bins, and looking up the patents they filed.
CYBER BOI, a gaming YouTuber, pointed to the Take-Two patent filed to try and protect their invention for the game.

The 88-page document, filed late last year and only just approved, contains features that are likely to be used for the upcoming GTA 6.

Most of these relate to brand new technology for how GTA 6 will be animated, in particular how GTA characters run and move.
In as simple terms as is possible, due to how motion capture (mocap) works, if you want to have NPCs or characters in previous games running or doing any kind of animations, you need someone of that height or build to be doing the mocap.
Want a massive mountain of a man to do the animation for hitting someone on the head?
You need to go out and find a mountain of a man.

Want a 7-foot woman to be animated hijacking a car?
You need to hit up the WNBA and hope they have someone tall enough for you.
This new technology, however, will make it so that Rockstar’s game engine (known as RAGE), will be able to carry out animations for characters of all weights and builds.

The YouTuber in his video pointed out that this likely means there will be far more options for GTA Online character customisation, and perhaps even far more options for animations in the single player.

Commenters on the video suggested it may lead to customising the player’s height and weight, with one commenting: “FINALLY someone else touches on this. THIS is what's going to be the game changer, in my opinion.”
In the meantime, while we wait for more GTA news, this will have to keep us going until TakeTwo tell us more.
