For the most part when someone has a designer on a rescue programme, the results are usually pretty fantastic.
Occasionally though, TV shows will put out something which isn't to everyone's taste. It happens to the best of us!
But viewers of BBC's Garden Rescue weren't impressed with the team's efforts at a property in Mickleover during a recent episode.

The designers had come up with a 1950s rock and roll and fairytale themed design for this particular garden - which looked rather neglected beforehand - sticking to a budget of £3,000.
However, the result left viewers a little non-plussed, to say the least.
I must admit, upon seeing the garden it was difficult to make out the rock 'n' roll elements. It had a Mediterranean concept, with terracotta pots and dry beds with herbs, as well as an olive tree.

It did sort of look like it was only half finished. Though in fairness, it can take time for things to grow in after they've been planted.
Viewers of the show were decidedly unimpressed by the design, with one posting: "£3,000 for that. 2 huge exhausts sticking out a water feature and the new turf looked awful, gaps where it all joined poor workmanship."
While another viewer wrote: "That is such a tacky garden. I wouldn't call that a makeover at all." Oh dear.

But despite this, homeowners Elaine and Paul were delighted with the result.
There were a wide variety of plants in the beds, as well as a trimmed lawn. The garden also featured a tiled area and pergola, with it looking undeniably nicer than it did before with the overgrown grass, rubbish and just generally nothing really going on.
Elaine and Paul certainly have a space that they can now enjoy together, with a table outside to sit at as well as lots of different spaces and lovely plants.
And frankly, it's their garden, so if they're happy nothing else matters.

Things haven't always gone that smoothly unfortunately. One episode of the BBC's Your Home In Their Hands from 2015 saw homeowner John making no attempt to conceal his feelings about the makeover, while his partner Rachel tried her best to look for positives.
John said: "I think it looks horrendous, it doesn't look anything like a bedroom. So sorry, but it's a big thumbs down from me. It's hideous. I think it's even too much for Rachel if she was to tell the truth."
Well, you can't win them all I suppose.
