Bon Jovi might have one of the music world's most recognisable names, but like many other artists of his generation, his real name is completely different.
Jon Bon Jovi, 60, isn't even the lead singer of the Bon Jovi's band's full name, and one TikToker was stunned to learn the truth when he looked up the 80s icon.
User @ponderingjon subsequently took to the popular social media app to share his finding, and other people were clearly just as stunned, as his video has been viewed over 1.8 million times.

"But it turns out it's Francis and his last name is Bongiovi. How do I not know that?"
But while @ponderingjon might have been annoyed at himself for not knowing Bon Jovi's real name, if the comments section is anything to go by, neither do the vast majority of people - unless their parents happen to be big fans.

Noise Addicts reports that Bon Jovi's name was first named back in the mid-70s when his music career began and executives wanted to make him more marketable.
Apparently, the other members of the band expressed no objection to being called the name of their lead singer and given their mammoth success since then, TikTok users - who are typically millennial or younger - can be forgiven for not knowing his real name.
