Just when you might have thought it finally 'ended with them', Anna Kendrick’s being pulled into it.
Well, she’s not quite holding on to rope as it’s dangled in her face.
The star gave an awkward response after she was asked about her co-star, Blake Lively’s, ongoing legal battle.

In case you’ve somehow avoided it all, Lively is currently involved in lawsuits with Justin Baldoni following their movie last summer, It Ends With Us.
And the drama seems to be trying to follow her into the press for her latest film, Another Simple Favour.
Premiering yesterday (7 March), the movie is a sequel to 2018’s A Simple Favour, again directed by Paul Feig with Kendrick and Lively starring as the leads.
But there’s no denying a lot of the promo has been shadowed by the legal drama.

So, on the red carpet at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival, a Variety reporter asked Kendrick: “How does it feel like the movie is being impacted kind of by everything happening around going on in the world?”
And the Pitch Perfect star gave a somewhat shady response.
“Why what happened?” Kendrick said. “I did Ayahuasca and the last year of my life has just gone.”
She then turned it back to the reason she’s there, adding: “But I’ve heard the movie’s amazing.”
The star then hurried off while blowing a kiss to the reporter.

Users on X said Kendrick ‘couldn’t have answered this better’ as they said she’s got the ‘face of someone who is absolutely done with vague questions’.
“Oscar winning evasion!” one joked as another added: “Anna Kendrick mastering the art of saying a lot without saying anything at all.”
“Very pro move, this is why Anna will be around, forever,” a third said.
There had previously been rumours that the publicised drama between Baldoni and Lively was impacting the release of Another Simple Favour.
But Fieg shut this down as he wrote on X in January: “This is total BS. Sorry.

“The movie is finished and coming out soon. Don’t believe anything you read on social media these days.”
Lively’s team filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December, accusing him of sexual harassment and attempting to launch a smear campaign against her.
His team then filed on his behalf in January, claiming defamation against her and husband, Ryan Reynolds. Baldoni's attorney claims Lively and her team took certain measures to gain control over their movie.
His team calls her claims ‘categorically false’, while Lively’s say his lawsuit is ‘another chapter in the abuser playbook’.
