Ashley Cain has spoken out as he reveals his unborn baby’s health battle.
This heartbreak comes just over two years after his daughter’s tragic death.
The former footballer and ex-girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee sadly lost eight-month-old Azaylia Diamond Cain to a rare form of cancer in April 2021.

She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia at just eight weeks old, with tumours on her lungs, stomach and kidneys.
But he is now soon set to become a dad again as he revealed he is having a baby boy with a long-term friend.
Cain told The Sun: “Azaylia would have loved a little brother, and this is now my chance to do what I was meant to do on this Earth.”
The reality TV star visited his daughter’s grave to tell her first that he was having another child.

“After going to her resting place and speaking to her about it, I just had a feeling in my heart and in my soul that she was happy for me,” he said.
But when Cain and the expectant mum went to their 20-week scan, they learned their baby has a potential heart defect.
“They couldn’t find the connection between one of the valves and the heart so it was another very difficult time for me,” he explained.

“I had already been through a really tough journey with Azaylia. I had already lost a child and I was worried and scared that it could happen again.
“For the weeks that passed, there was a lot of worry and concern until the final check-up in which they thought everything will be OK.”
The star said his son will have to go for a scan as soon as he is born (he’s due in January) to double check his heart is all in good order.

“I am saying my prayers, believing positive things and getting myself in the right mind frame either way to be there for her and my son,” he added.
Cain recently hit out at Ricky Gervais in a furious rant following a joke about dying children.
The comedian was promoting his upcoming Netflix special when he shared a snippet of his ‘Make a Wish’ joke.
And it did not sit well with the Ex on the Beach star who wrote: “I was actually a fan of Ricky Gervais but after watching his stand up with my family and hearing multiple jokes about terminally ill children and especially kids with cancer I had to turn it off.

“Some things are not funny, especially to those parents that are left behind.”
LADbible previously contacted a representative of Ricky Gervais for comment.
