Hudson Meek, who appeared in the 2017 movie Baby Driver, has died at the age of 16 after falling from a moving vehicle.
The 16-year-old had played a younger version of Baby (Ansel Elgort) in the film, as well as appeared in a number of other projects, including the MacGyver reboot and a film called The School Duel which has not yet released.
According to People, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office in Alabama identified Meek as the victim in an incident where a 16-year-old had suffered blunt force injuries when he fell from a moving vehicle in Vestavia Hills on 19 December.
Meek was taken to hospital after the fall, where he died two days later (21 December), and on that same day a message was posted on his Instagram account from his family confirming that the 16-year-old had died.
The message read: "Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met."
The family asked for prayers and said a celebration of the 16-year-old's life would take place on 28 December, and that a scholarship at Vestavia Hills High School would be set up in his memory.
An obituary for Meek has since been released, and says that he 'died peacefully', and that his organs have been donated.
It said: "Hudson’s personality was one of a kind. He was confident, convicted in his beliefs, spontaneous, and quick-witted.
"He never let the facts get in the way of a funny story, and he loved friendly banter. He was a prankster, loved a good joke, and was happiest when he was making others laugh.
"Hudson thrived in settings that allowed him to meet and serve new people. Hudson was a vibrant and dynamic person who lived life to the fullest.
"Hudson was also an accomplished actor. He worked on several major motion pictures and television shows, some of which will be released in 2025.
"He absolutely loved spending time on set and having the chance to learn the names and stories of every member of the cast and crew."
In a statement released by his representatives at J Pervis Talent Agency, the 16-year-old was described as 'an extraordinary young talent, whose dedication, passion, and promise shone brightly within our industry'.
They said: "Over the past 10 years, he contributed so much to the spirit of our agency and his loss leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all of us.
"Hudson was more than just a talent, he was a source of inspiration and touched so many lives with his enthusiasm, kindness, smile and innate ability to light up a room and never meet a stranger. He will be remembered with great affection by us all."
