For us mere muggles, losing an Instagram follower might come as a result of being ghosted or from when that stranger you met in the club bathroom that time realises they have no idea who you are. And usually, it’s hardly a noticeable difference in our total.
But for celebrities, it can look slightly more dramatic.
Like in the case of Billie Eilish, who once lost 100,000 Instagram followers in the space of just an hour after posting a photo.

Not the selfie Chris Hemsworth regretted taking with her, it was something she shared back in 2020 for a ‘post a picture’ challenge. With the star often being pretty iconic in her outspoken-ness online, she issued a brutal response.

Scooping up Grammys, Oscars, Brits and more with her brother FINNEAS since she burst onto the scene with ‘Ocean Eyes’ back in 2015, it’s fair to say the 23-year-old has racked up quite the following over the years.
Eilish released her debut studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, in 2019 with it being one of the best-selling albums of the year.
So, with such an impressive list of top 10 hits across the globe, it’s hardly a surprise she currently has 124 million followers on Instagram.

But a snap of a drawing she shared didn’t sit well with tens of thousands of people when she was asked to share a picture of ‘a drawing you’re really proud of.'
Shared on Instagram Stories, the image consisted of different naked drawings, as well as some snakes.
“These probably lol I love boobs," Eilish wrote in the caption.
Despite it literally just portraying the naked female body, some people managed to take serious offence, and around 100,000 decided to unfollow her.

One follower quickly noticed the drop in the ‘Bad Guy’ singer's followers and shared a post about it online.
And it seems the star spotted it herself, after she also addressed the controversy in an Instagram Story, writing: “LMFAOOO y’all babies smh."
The hit-maker has always been pretty open. In fact, she previously opened up about what she called her 'favourite subject matter' in an interview.
The pop star was asked what she likes to do to decompress to which she simply said: "Sex."
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Eilish continued: "I basically talk about sex any time I possibly can. That’s literally my favourite topic.
