Celine Dion has revealed that she 'almost died' while battling an incurable health condition.
The legendary singer, 56, suffers from a rare neurological condition called stiff person syndrome, which has forced her to step out of the spotlight since she shared her diagnosis with the world back in December 2022.
She announced she had to cancel her world tour, even though it 'broke her heart', just months later as she worked out how to navigate life while coping with 'spasms'.
Detailing her diagnosis in an Instagram video, Celine previously told fans: "Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to."

Her sister Claudette then revealed that the My Heart Will Go On songstress 'doesn't have control over her muscles', although she added that her famous sibling still dreamed of returning to the stage.
Stiff person syndrome, which is said to only affect one or two out of every million people, can cause rigidity of the limbs and torso as well as severe muscle spasms.
Fans haven't seen a lot of Celine since her health battle began, although she did make a surprise appearance at the Grammys in February to present Taylor Swift with the gong for Album of the Year.

Now, her staunch supporters are set to get another update on her condition as she sits down for an interview with Honda Kobt, 59, for an upcoming episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna.
The NBC News star drip fed details from their chat, which will air on 11 June, on Thursday (23 May).
Kotb said: "Celine Dion at some point, she is now much better, but at some point she almost died, which is something that she says. It was a scary time."
Reflecting on their candid conversation, she revealed that Celine had 'wondered if she was going to make it' and if she could 'live through it', while in the throes of dealing with stiff person syndrome.

"A lot of people are wondering what happened. What was wrong," Kotb continued, adding that Celine had opened up about how her health condition had affected her iconic voice - while they also discussed the 'possibility of a comeback'.
The Today host said it was a 'very emotional interview' which will give fans an insight into 'where she is on her journey of coming back'.
It came as a trailer for Celine's new Amazon Prime documentary I Am: Celine Dion also dropped on Thursday, which saw the singer get emotional as she discussed life with stiff person syndrome.
