Chris Hemsworth and his son are best friends forever and that means something special in their household.
While some people would find it weird if a child calls their parent by their first name, the Thor actor embraces it fully.
He posted a series of photos from a recent fishing trip with his family and he was inundated with questions and comments about one thing in particular.
"Why is his son calling him Chris," said one person.

Another added: "Disrespect calling your father by his name at that age. I have always heard Chris call his father dad."
A third wrote: "Did you call your dad by his first name? Going to be interesting when you need to be their Dad and not their friend."
He's hit back at the criticism and concern, and explained why he allows his son to do that.
"My son wanted to catch a fish for the locals in Fiji and after 3 attempts and about 12 hrs at sea we pulled in this beauty," he wrote on Instagram.

"Fed the village for 3 days.
"Ps if your wondering why my son calls me Chris it’s because I’m his BFF and true mates don’t call each other dad."
Chris' twin sons were born in 2014, two years after the actor and his wife, Elsa Pataky, welcomed their daughter.
He's been very open about how becoming a parent changed in life in so many ways.

He and Elsa moved their family from Los Angeles to Bryon Bay in Australia in 2015 and have never looked back.
“I think it makes you less selfish, because it’s no longer about you," he told E! News at the time.
"It can’t be. It’s about someone else, which is refreshing.
"It’s nice to not spend all your time thinking about your own problems and garbage up there, and I just have so much fun doing it. It’s the best.

"And now I’m a bit more choosy, I think, with when I work and how I work because it better be worthwhile to take me away from them.”
