Rob McElhenney enlisted the help of fellow Hollywood star Chris Pratt to play a birthday prank on Ryan Reynolds.
The Deadpool star turns 47 today (23 October) and to mark the special occasion his pal and Wrexham FC co-owner McElhenney shared a Parks & Rec inspired clip on social media. You can see the clip here:
In the clip, McElhenney tells Pratt: “You know how Ryan and I are always doing these elaborate things for each others birthdays?”

To which Pratt enthusiastically replies: “Yes.”
McElhenney continues: “OK, so this year…” before Pratt interrupts to admit that he doesn’t really know but he’s ‘excited’ nonetheless.
McElhenney then somewhat awkwardly explains how the pair prank each other every year on their birthdays, during which Pratt cuts in to ask: "Do I have to follow you to see that? Was it on his social media?
"I might have seen it if it was on his, I don't follow you."

Pulling back towards his plans for the prank, he goes on: “This year, my idea involves a park."
At this point, the penny drops for Pratt as he looks unimpressed and replies: "Oh because I was on Parks and..."
The camera then cuts to McElhenney explaining his plans for his very own park, right in Wrexham - named after Reynolds, of course.

In the clip, he explains: "Introducing the Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park in Wrexham, Wales. Located on the site of the old Wrexham Hippodrome, this park will be beautiful.
“We'll have open, green spaces’ pop-up restaurants; we'll have movie screenings; there'll be actual green lanterns; benches for old guys to swing on; a statue that, may or may not, look like Ryan.
"Happy birthday Ryan, thanks Chris. Visit ParksAndWrex.co.uk to find out more."

Clicking through the website, a description explains: Yes, this is a real park - or at least it will be soon. Happy Birthday Ryan, and welcome to… Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park.”
The site goes on: “Parks & Wrex are delighted to introduce the soon to be renamed Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park. This community space located in the heart of Wrexham will be a place for the public to gather, grow, and play. Working in close partnership with Wrexham County Borough Council, we’re beautifying the park in the coming months to be a reflection of the spirit of Wrexham and Wales.
“And we’re renaming it. Probably something Welsh, not Canadian.”
