Ed Sheeran has revealed the moment that made him ‘stop drinking and smoking’.
The 34-year-old artist, who has a new album coming this year, recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and gave fans an extract from one of his soon-to-be-released songs.
Sheeran seems to be on a mission to give up anything that could be potentially unhealthy for you, given he has previously owned up to having not owned a mobile phone for the past 10 years.

While the 'Shape of You' hitmaker might be seen as the life of the party, once spotted handing out drinks to others at a bar, he confirmed to a fan on social media earlier this week that he's given up pints for good, and it all started after an honest conversation with his wife Cherry Seaborn.
After watching a clip of Sheeran on the US talk show, one fan wrote: “Gorgeous song. But what deal did he make with the devil to age in reverse like that?”
As per The Mirror, Sheeran replied: “I stopped drinking and smoking, does wonders.”
In a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, the star opened up about the conversation he had with his wife that led to him making the decision.
Sheeran said: "Two months before Lyra was born, Cherry said, 'If my waters break, do you really want someone else to drive me to the hospital?' Because I was just drinking a lot. And that's when it clicked. I was like, 'No, actually, I really don't.' And I don't ever want to be p****d holding my kid. Ever, ever."

"Having a couple of beers is one thing. But having a bottle of vodka is another thing. It's just a realisation of, 'I'm getting into my thirties," he continued. "Grow up! You've partied, you've had this experience. Be happy with that and just be done.
"I love red wine, and I love beer. I don't know any old rockers that aren't alcoholics or sober, and I didn't want to be either."
Sheeran also took inspiration from his wife to get in better shape, as she likes to run and doesn't drink too much.
Speaking in an interview for the Hay House Chasing the Present Summit in 2020, he explained: "She exercises a lot, so I started going on runs with her. She eats quite healthily so I started eating quite healthily. She doesn't drink that much so I wasn't drinking. I think that all changed things."

Sheeran and Seaborn welcomed their first daughter, Lyra, in August 2020, while their second child Jupiter was born two years later.
The singing sensation isn't the only Hollywood name to embrace sobriety, with Tom Holland notably launching his own alcohol-free beer Bero, while Anne Hathaway has admitted that she's gone more than five years without a drink.
