Gordon Ramsay may be worth hundreds of millions of pounds but he's making sure he teaches his kids the value of money.

During an appearance on the YouTube show, Last Meals, the 57-year-old shared how much allowance he gave the older members of his brood when they were growing up.
In the episode, which aired on Tuesday (9 January), Ramsay said: "Every time they got their allowance, every month, a couple hundred dollars, if they save that up across the 12-month period, I would match that at Christmas for them."

He believes this taught them the importance of saving up and not being wasteful with their money.
"They got to stay true to their form by saving every dollar, and so when you start that practice, at sort of 10, 11, 12, 13, they got their part-time jobs, all of a sudden their minds are focused about their career paths."
He added: "And so yeah, that was the opposite way that I grew up. They are super disciplined and they are on it, man."

Ramsay, founded his restaurant empire in 1997, and has gone on to receive 17 Michelin stars in the years since.
He’s also a well-known face on screen through competitive cooking shows like Hell’s Kitchen, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, MasterChef and The F Word.
As such, over time he’s managed to accumulate a fair amount of cash - an estimated £610 million, in fact.
But, his kids aren't likely to see much of his fortune, with the chef being one of a number of celebrities who've decided that their offspring won't inherit their wealth.

In a 2017 interview with Daily Telegraph, he explained that he and Tana had worked out how much they'd be willing to give their kids.
"It's definitely not going to them, and that's not in a mean way, it's to not spoil them," he said.
"The only thing I've agreed with Tana is that they get a 25 percent deposit on a flat, but not the whole flat."

He later explained that he wanted to instil a strong work ethic in his children, along with a lesson in the importance of earning their own way in life.
Fair enough, Chef.
