Gwen Stefani has revealed the 'best advice' she has for couples is inviting a third party into their marriage.
The pop star, 55, explained that her and husband Blake Shelton both rely on another entity to keep their relationship on the right track.
She opened up about what an important part a higher power plays in her marriage to the country singer, 48, during a previous appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Stefani, who is a devout Catholic, said she'd recommend it to other people too, as it's done such a good job for her and Shelton.
Barrymore, 50, was quizzing the 'Don't Speak' singer about her love life and asked the music star what the best advice she has ever received about love is.
"Best advice would probably be, make sure you have a third party," Stefani said, while gesturing upwards to explain she was referring to God.

The big man has been a central part of her relationship with Shelton since they got together in 2015, after meeting while they were both coaches on The Voice.

Stefani was dealing with her divorce from Gavin Rossdale - who she shares sons Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11, with - at the time, while her now-husband was splitting from singer Miranda Lambert.
The California-born star previously opened up about the 'chaotic' circumstances during the early days of their relationship, as 'both of their lives were in complete turmoil'.
"Nothing could save us at that point," she told PEOPLE ast year. "There was a point where I was like, 'I can't even talk to you. This is insane. I already have enough problems.
"'This is not happening anymore. We're not going to text or nothing'."
Thankfully though, her fella is quite the talented singer and songwriter - and Shelton managed to change her mind with music, as he sent her a half-written song which he needed help finishing.

The pair went onto complete the duet, titled 'Go Ahead and Break My Heart', which was later released in 2016.

"I think he really wanted to impress me, because he doesn't really write songs as much as he used to," Stefani said. "And I love writing songs. That's everything to me.
"If I want to feel like I have any kind of purpose or any kind of value or anything, it's about writing a song. That's where I get my fulfilment."
Stefani and Shelton got hitched in July 2021, in an intimate ceremony on his ranch in Oklahoma.

He previously gushed about how his wife had inspired him to 'believe in God now more than I ever have in my life', saying she convinced him to attend church on a regular basis for the first time.
Shelton said it made he realise it was time to 'turn a page', while telling Fox News: "The biggest part of that is just how [Gwen] came into my life and now our relationship. It’s just too weird.
"If you take God out of it, it doesn’t make sense. If you put God into it, everything that’s happened with us makes sense."
