While everyone and their mate all over your Instagram feed are preparing for a marathon, Jamie Laing’s already gained better running clout.
Last week, the former Made in Chelsea star ran five ultra marathons in five days and raised over £2 million for Comic Relief.
But not only did he pick up ultimate bragging rights and money for charity but a rather unexpected injury to his manhood.

It was quite a brave sign-up for BBC Radio 1 presenter Laing, having claimed to have never run more than 5km before taking on the 241km challenge and he said afterwards that it had made him ‘more vulnerable, thankful, grateful’.
Although, he might not be saying his thanks for the state of his penis afterwards.

In a video diary from his Comic Relief Ultra Marathon Man challenge, as featured in his podcast NewlyWeds with wife Sophie Habboo, he revealed he’d had to ‘Vaseline up’ after an unfortunate consequence.
“My feet hurt, I’ve got blisters on my feet one of my toe nails has gone black which is not a pretty sight,” he said.

“I had chafing on the worst part you can have chafing, on my penis there I said it, so I had to Vaseline that up.”
Chafing like this is caused by friction, a common occurrence for runners that tends to get worse the more you carry on - bearing in mind Laing ran these ultra marathons consecutively for five days.
A friction burn on someone’s manhood will make it get red and swollen and pretty tender to the touch.

Earlier today (24 March), Laing also shared a photo of his ‘battered’ feet to Instagram as he compared them to that of a Hobbit’s on BBC Radio 1.

“My feet are so swollen!!! They're battered and my toe nail is about to fall off,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.
“They look a little bit like hobbit feet. Ones thing for sure they aren't looking pretty.”
Laing crossed the finish line in Salford on Friday (21 March), having started the challenge in London on the Monday (17 March).
He told the BBC: “At one point I thought I was down and out. Mentally I was gone, physically I was broken. I didn't have anything left in me.
“Something pulled me out. The last kilometre was the most euphoric thing I've ever had.”
On day three, he was already telling radio listeners he feared he may ‘quit’ as Habboo revealed that he told her ‘every day’ he couldn’t do it.

“And despite every part of me wanting to tell you to stop, I knew you would complete it because once you put your mind to something you don’t give up, and you didn’t give up,” she wrote on Instagram.
“You said that you did this for all the people who suffer daily from mental health, who don’t believe in themselves, who don’t love themselves, well, in your own words you have just proven that ‘you are stronger than you think, you are braver than you are and you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it’. I love you so much and am forever proud of you.”
