One of Jim Carrey's co-stars admitted they 'really hated' working with him in intense meeting

Carrey doesn't exactly have one of the best reps

From Liar Liar to The Truman Show, Jim Carrey is the funnyman behind The Mask.

But while he might be the lead of many people’s favourite comedy films, he’s got a bit of a rep for having, well, a bad rep.

He’s previously being called out for making a ‘creepy’ joke and once revealed he got so ‘angry’ on set the director thought he’d land a punch in the face.

Carrey is particularly well known for having a very immersive, controversial, approach to acting, having been previously branded ‘narcissistic’ by Martin Freeman for going so very method.

And one of his other co-stars admitted they ‘really hated’ working with him when they had an impromptu but intense meeting.

Back in 2017, the Bruce Almighty star appeared on Norm Macdonald Live as he revealed how the actor made his feelings pretty clear.

It seems Tommy Lee Jones really isn’t one of Carrey’s fans, making that clear right at the time of 1995’s Batman Forever. Carrey played Riddler, while Jones starred as Two Face.

The Grinch actor explained he was out for dinner at a restaurant when it turned out his co-star was at the very same place.

“The maître d’ said, ‘Oh, I hear you’re working with Tommy Lee Jones. He’s over in the corner having dinner.’ I went over, and I said, ‘Hey Tommy, how are you doing?’ and the blood just drained from his face,” Carrey recalled.

Jones then ‘got up shaking’ before delivering quite the scathing greeting to his co-star.

“He must have been in a mid-kill-me fantasy or something like that. And he went to hug me, and he said, 'I hate you. I really don’t like you,'” Carrey continued.

"And I said, 'What’s the problem?' and pulled up a chair, which probably wasn’t smart.”

Jones then delivered the blow as he told the star: “I cannot sanction your buffoonery.”

Yep, ouch. But also, one to add to the slams for your pals when they mildly p**s you off.

Carrey then went on to claim that it was all because of his presence.

“I was the star, and that was the problem,” he said.

"He’s a phenomenal actor, though. I still love him," he added. "He might have been uncomfortable doing that work, too. That’s not really his style of stuff."

And either way, it seems Jones has managed to keep his distance from the ‘buffoon’ as they’ve not been in a film together since.
