Jordan North has released a statement following the surprising announcement of his departure from Radio 1.
Yesterday (16 February) the BBC announced that the much-loved radio presenter would be on the way out.

This sudden news came as a shock to Radio 1 listeners who have a great deal of affection for Jordan and the years he's spent on air.
He'll be stepping down from his slot on the station's Going Home show which he'd presented with Vick Hope, and his replacement will be Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing.
As for where he's going next, once Jordan leaves Radio 1 on 4 March it sounds like he's heading for Capital FM to take Roman Kemp's spot.

Of course he wasn't going to just go without saying his goodbyes and thank yous, and while the final farewell will likely be reserved for his last day at Radio 1 he took to Instagram to pay tribute to everyone he'd worked with over the years.
He wrote: "Hello everyone 👋
"I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all my wonderful colleagues / talented producers at Radio 1 who many I consider to be friends for life and will miss greatly, you’ve all reached out to me over the past 24 hours and it really has meant a lot.
"To my amazing fellow presenters I wish I could thank you all personally, I’ve loved working with you it’s been an absolute blast! Big love to Katie Thisleton, Greg James, Arielle Free, Ricky, Melvin & Charlie, Dean & Vicky, Clara Amfo, Matt & Molly, Scott Mills, Grimmy, all the rest of you fantastic lot, and of course my partner in crime Vick Hope… I’ll miss being on air with you every day.

"MOST IMPORTANTLY the biggest of thank yous to the fantastic listeners who have been really generous and always made me feel welcome, your kind words & messages have been so lovely, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
"I’ll be back soon, and can’t wait to see you all again."
Of course the first comment wasn't one paying tribute to his time on Radio 1, but instead a note from Jordan himself explaining that he'd had to edit his post as he'd forgotten to put Greg James' name down.

"FML FMAL," Jordan wrote of his mishap, though fortunately he spotted it quickly.
Naturally his loyal listeners were still hoping this was some sort of prank and someone would come and tell them it was all a joke.
Sadly his departure very much seems to be real, and it's prompted some Radio 1 listeners to say they might not listen any more as the place won't be the same without him.
It's all been very sudden, but it sounds like we won't have to wait long after he leaves the BBC to hear Jordan on the radio again.
