Nicole Kidman admitted she is 'afraid' to watch her new film because of how erotic it is.
The Moulin Rouge actor stars in Halina Reijna’s upcoming Babygirl, which is set to premiere at the Venice International Film Festival next week before it lands in cinemas in January.
Also featuring Antonio Banderas and Harris Dickinson, the erotic thriller follows a high-powered CEO as she risks her career and family ‘when she begins a torrid affair’ with the company’s new, and much younger, intern (Dickinson).

But Kidman isn’t so sure she’ll join the audience to watch it, as she discussed with Vanity Fair how she’s made some ‘films that are pretty exposing, but not like this’.
Reijin has dubbed Babygirl an ‘X-ray’ of kink as she called it ‘a really hot movie’.
But it’s so hot that the Aussie star seems to be fearing watching it for herself.

“There’s something in me going, ‘Okay, this was made for the big screen and to be seen with people’,” she said. “But then I’m like, That’s a high-wire act. I’m not sure I have that much bravery.”
One scene in the film shows her character Romy masturbating alone after having sex with her husband (Banderas).
Kidman went on to describe some of the takes as the kind of thing ‘you do and hide in your home videos’ as she said it’s ‘not a thing that normally is going to be seen by the world’.

The 57-year-old explained how she felt ‘very exposed’ as an actor, a woman and ‘as a human being’. “I had to go in and go out like, I need to put my protection back on. ‘What have I just done? Where did I go? What did I do?’,” she added.
It’s said the sex scenes in Babygirl are ‘radically long’ and Kidman confessed how filming left her ‘ragged’.
She was often left thinking ‘I don’t want to be touched’ but while working closely with intimacy co-ordinators, the star said she ‘was compelled to do it’.

For Kidman, despite how difficult it might be to make them, it’s important for films to go deep into the topics many of us are nervous to talk about.
Reijin added: “I know we accomplished one thing, and that is that we made a really hot movie.
"I don't know about good, bad- that’s up to everybody- but I’m sure of that.”
