We've all been in the situation with a mate where you take a joke too far, or say something you're not supposed to in a public situation.
It can cause a bit of drama between friends, but you can often power through - though as Reese Witherspoon pointed out, it can also be friendship-ending.
Witherspoon admitted that she is no longer on speaking terms with a fellow actor after a 'roast' at a past awards show, but was quick to address social media rumours over who it was.

Fans ran riot with her comments, with many suggesting that it may be about Titanic star Kate Winslet.
But Witherspoon took to her social accounts to set the record straight about her relationship with the Hollywood A-Lister.
The Legally Blonde star has rubbished these rumours, claiming the pair are 'dear friends'.

Speaking on Instagram Stories, she wrote on Sunday (2 February): "Hey guys .. just spoke to my very dear friend for years, Kate W.
"We laughed about this stupidity. Please do not believe the internet.
"We are good friends and have never had any falling out," the actress explained.
In the next story, along with a screenshot of a news headline, she added: “This is completely UNTRUE …so silly!”

It all started following the 48-year-old's interview with PEOPLE last week, where she was promoting her upcoming film opposite Will Ferrell, You’re Cordially Invited.
The unnamed actor had asked Witherspoon personally to speak at a ‘classy’ event in her honour, saying it ‘literally haunts’ her to this day.
The star revealed that she hadn't been to this particular awards ceremony, so she mistakenly thought it 'was like a roast'.
“So this friend of mine, who I didn't really know that well but she was a very serious, proper actress, she asked me to give her an award,” told PEOPLE.

“So I got up and roasted her.”
However, Witherspoon said that it was a 'British', 'elegant' and 'classy' affair, and not the right environment to drop some of the comments that she did.
Recalling the comments, she said: “I was like, ‘Remember the time we got laser hair removal?’”

“I'm still embarrassed about it," the actress recalled.
Apparently, that awkward quip was enough to make the actor stop talking to Witherspoon altogether.
“I'm not even kidding — we're not friends anymore, I think she doesn't like me anymore,” she admitted.
“I thought it was so funny and it was just, I had the wrong audience. It was pretty bad. Yeah. Not even kidding, she doesn't talk to me anymore. Oh well."
