Robbie Williams admitted that at times he’d rather tuck into a tasty tangerine than have sex with wife Ayda Field.

The 49-year-old star, who is the centre of new four-part Netflix documentary series Robbie Williams, married Field back in 2010 and the pair share four children together - but more than a decade on from their nuptials, he shared that there’s ‘no sex after marriage’.

In an interview with the Sun earlier this year, he said that in the past he had been prescribed testosterone tablets to treat depression, which resulted him and Field having an ‘incredible’ sex life.

However, went on to reveal that he had later ditched the pills due to his previous addiction problems - and since then things had slowed down in the bedroom department.

But despite the fact his libido has calmed down as he’s grown older, the singer insists that it’s not a problem for him and Field, as they’re on the same page about the matter.

Opening up about his love life, the former Take That singer said: “No sex in a marriage is only a problem if you’re on different pages; if one person wants it, and the other doesn’t; if you have different expectations or requirements.”

Recalling the period of his life he was on testosterone, he went on: “But really, everyone knows there is no sex after marriage. That’s just the way it is. I was on testosterone for a while but, because I’m an addict, that had to stop. I got these massive square shoulders and started to look like a doorman. It wasn’t a good look.

“But the sex we had when I was on testosterone was incredible; it was all the time. We were insatiable. It goes to show how into each other we really are, though, because when I was on it, we couldn’t take our hands off each other.

“I miss that. That was a fun period. Sometimes now, though, Ayda will turn to me on the sofa and say, ‘We should do sex,’ and I’m sitting there eating a tangerine and just sort of shrug. So, ya know, sometimes we try.”

His wife agreed, stressing that to her ‘intimacy is the important, meaningful side of love’.

She went on to explain that while the pair might not be ripping each others’ clothes off every night, they are still ‘always cuddling and kissing’ and that they will hold hands and cuddle up while watching TV.

Summing up their relationship, she added: “Me and Rob are on the same page. We are happy.”
