Ryan Reynolds admits he’s proud his kids hold passports for two countries

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's kids have a place to go if they ever get tired of life in the USA

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has revealed he's proud that all of his children have dual-citizenship.

Despite spending the majority of his adult life and career working in America, the actor, 47, wasn't actually born in the States, which meant that his children had the opportunity to obtain a second passport.

Reynolds is currently a dad-of-four, sharing daughters James, nine, Ines, seven, Betty, four, and a one-year-old child, whose name and gender hasn't been revealed, with wife Blake Lively, 36.

When it came to raising their family, Reynolds has revealed in a conversation with Deadpool and Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman that it was important for the children to be connected to both of their parents' identities.

During an interview with People, Jackman - who hails from Australia - shared that he wanted to make sure his own children spent time growing up Down Under.

"I'm really proud of that," he added.

Jackman then asked the same question of Reynolds' family, asking if his children felt connected to his home country, Canada.

The actor then revealed that he and Lively were raising their children as both Canadian and American, adding that the kids feel a sense of 'pride' towards their dual-nationality.

"My kids, they have Canadian passports as well, and they feel a real connection to that," he explained, before adding: "They love being from Canada. They tell people they are. 'Oh, I'm half Canadian, half American'." Cute!

In addition to the children having Canadian passports, Reynolds is also an American citizen - having adopted dual nationality in 2018. It's not known if Gossip Girl star Lively also has a Canadian passport.

Reynolds went on to add that the children weren't connected to the just by passport, but had also spent time living in his home city of Vancouver while he worked on the first two Deadpool films.

"It's a point of pride of theirs. They've also spent huge amounts of their formative years in Canada and particularly Vancouver," he said, before jokingly adding: "I had only one child in Deadpool 1 and I had two on Deadpool 2 but hopefully we don't do a Deadpool 8 because I don't want eight kids."

We're not sure if there will be eight Deadpool films, however fans who are excited to see Reynolds don his Wade Wilson suit once again don't have much longer to wait as upcoming film Deadpool and Wolverine will be released on 26 July.

The film will also see Jackman dust off his Wolverine suit, with the anti-heroes set for a wild adventure together.
