Singer and reality TV star Shaun Ryder has made a sobering admission about his life during a new Channel 4 series.
Best known for fronting Manchester band Happy Mondays, Ryder has no doubt lived a very rock 'n' roll lifestyle over the years at the forefront of the 90s rave scene in the UK.
However Ryder, now 61, is currently feeling more reflective on his life after appearing on new three-part series Celebrity Send Off - revealing that he isn't sure on how long he has left.

The new Channel 4 series sees various celebrities and reality TV stars plan their own funerals with the help of professionals from Co-op Funeralcare.
Celebrity Send Off allows participants the ability to share how they'd like their funerals to look - something which can often be particularly stressful for grieving families.
For Ryder the series also offered him the opportunity to look more introspectively at his life, with the Celebrity Gogglebox star admitting he doesn't expect to have much time left.

"I've got 10 years left, maybe 15, so I should be thinking about it," he explained in an interview with OK! ahead of the show, adding that he'd been to 'a few funerals lately'.
Ryder went on to add that his father passed away at the age of 74 and that his sibling and bandmate Paul Ryder had also died fairly young - passing away at the age of 58 in 2022.
The singer has also had numerous health issues in his life, including overcoming a 20-year heroin addiction as well as having a hip replacement and suffering from extensive hearing loss due to his work as a performer.
Ryder also has an underactive thyroid, which he has begun taking Ozempic for in order to deal with his difficulties with losing weight.

During the show Ryder enlisted help from his bandmate and Celebrity Gogglebox partner Bez, who took the lead with planning his future funeral.
Bez went all out for his friend's hypothetical send off, which included references to Ryder's long-running fascination with UFOs and sending his ashes into orbit via firework before ending things with a massive rave.
Ryder was left impressed by his friend's unorthodox funeral approach, however insisted he would prefer to be buried rather than cremated.

"I wouldn't mind going up into the sky like a UFO but I want to be buried," he said. "I don't want to be cremated."
Celebrity Send Off will be available to stream on Channel 4 from 1 August.
