Viewers are ‘mind-blown’ after realising Cindy Lou from How The Grinch Stole Christmas is one of the most popular characters on Gossip Girl.
As I'm sure most of you are aware, the 2000 festive classic is an adaptation of the beloved children's tale by Dr. Seuss.

The film sees the reclusive Grinch (Jim Carrey) solely focused on ruining Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville.
Alongside his dog, Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town to swipe everything holiday-related from Whoville.
However, after Grinch encounters little girl Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen), his perspective changes.
Now, some viewers are only just clocking that the seven-year-old movie star is the same - grown-up version - of Taylor Momsen from Gossip Girl.

Aged 14, Momsen went on to play one of the most well-known characters, Jenny Humphrey, who featured in teen drama series, which ran for six seasons from 2007 to 2012.
Fans are blown away by the discovery, as one person tweeted: "Useless information that blew my mind for no reason today. Jenny from Gossip Girl.... is also Cindy Lou Who from The Grinch."
"As if I’ve only just realised Cindy Lou Who in the Grinch is Jenny from Gossip Girl," added a second.

In an interview with Today, Momsen - who is now a singer and songwriter - said she felt 'blessed' to be part of such a Christmas classic.

"That no matter what age touches your heart, I think that that's an amazing thing to be a part of."
Recalling what it was like to work with Carrey, Momsen said: "I remember him being so kind, so concerned, but so methodical with what he was doing.

"I think that people love The Grinch just simply because the core of the story is so sweet and it's so heartwarming and it has such a good message.
"Aside from how amazing Jim Carrey's performance is and the theatrics that went into the shoot, just the way the film looks and moves and is edited is amazing in its own right."
