Top OnlyFans celebrity earner of 2024 explained impact it had on her life before quitting platform

Top OnlyFans celebrity earner of 2024 explained impact it had on her life before quitting platform

The star walked away from the X-rated platform earlier this year

She's best known for walking a mile in Louboutins, incoherent freestyles and earning a tonne of money on OnlyFans.

However, although her saucy side hustle was earning her millions each month, this celeb decided to quit the adult platform in June this year.

But somehow, she still managed to top the list of the highest celebrity earners in 2024.

Iggy Azalea's adoring subscribers are greeted with the message that her 'page is closed' if they head to her OnlyFans account these days, but she's redirecting them elsewhere.

Ever the astute businesswoman, the 'Fancy' rapper has decided to try and broaden her horizons by expanding into other sectors.

The 34-year-old told her subscribers: "Hey everyone! I enjoyed our conversations so much - but I've decided I don't have enough time to chat via this page anymore. You can find me on Telegram."

Her exit from OnlyFans obviously came as quite a shock to her supporters though, as she was reportedly pulling in a whopping $48 million (£38.1 million) annually.

The musician is said to have been raking in upwards of $9 million (£7.1 million) each month, so people couldn't understand why she would walk away from that kind of cash.

This is why Azalea revealed her motivations for leaving the X-rated site during an appearance on Laura Shin's Unchained podcast a few months ago.

She also opened up about why she was swapping saucy content for cryptocurrency in the wake of the launch of her $MOTHER coin and her presence on Telegram.

As we mentioned, Azalea has been branching out - and has even set up her own non-contract telecommunication service, Unreal Mobile, as well as crowd-funding platform, Dream Vault, this year.

How Iggy Azalea found success on OnlyFans

Azalea explained that a lot of people think that OnlyFans is 'sexually deviant' - and although she admitted 'a lot of it is', she believes all creators shouldn't tarred with the same brush.

She said: "I'm sure a lot of people would like to think they're a lot different to the people that go on OnlyFans, but surprise! You're not! At least not on mine.

"OnlyFans was different in its learning experience for me, because I already have experience cultivating communities.

"I have been a musician for a long time, that was successful, and the way that I had success with that was from cultivating a core fan base.

"How you do it is obviously different, it's really through touring and then online community as well.

"This [OnlyFans] doesn't have the in-person element to it."

Why the rapper joined the platform

The 34-year-old explained that she originally signed up to the platform as she wanted to post 'sexy images' that she couldn't share on Instagram to promote an artistic book she had in the pipeline.

But Azalea was unable to complete it as she became 'really sick' - however, her ill health made her realise that her subscribers weren't just supporting her to see risqué content.

"It seemed like they wanted regular human interaction or friendship more than they wanted a transactional relationship," the rapper continued.

"I'll get messages - even before I shut down my page - from people on Instagram that would say like, 'I'm so sorry I couldn't pay for my subscription this month but I love talking to you so much'.

"When I would see a lot of those messages I started to realise like, okay, this is really just more about friendship connection."

She realised that she had a value to her fans which was 'beyond monetary' and more about community - prompting her to sign up to Telegram instead to offer a more streamlined experience.

Azalea's warning

Azalea also warned people not to be enticed by the alleged earnings of celebrities on OnlyFans, as fame plays a huge part in why some adult stars are so popular.

"When you get on OnlyFans, your first month is going to be the most, and then from then on, how much you make really depends," she said.

"When you're not showing a bunch of stuff, like I wasn't, then it depends on how much you can foster a community on there."

Sadly, the star said she will never reveal the exact amount she has earned from her content, as she thinks it's both 'overwhelmingly tacky' and 'dangerous'.

Azalea added: "It is a site that people can misconstrue, especially women, where they think, 'Oh I'm going to go and show more and I'll earn so much more'.

"It doesn't even work that way. It's a predatory space - so is crypto in ways, too. I suppose where wherever there's a lot of money to be made, it can be predatory.

"I don't really want to advertise a number or an amount."
