Batman fans have been wowed by Colin Farrell's performance as The Penguin and a behind-the-scenes clip of him laughing in character has been branded 'creepy' but in a good way.
At this point, it's pretty safe to say that The Batman was a very successful movie and one of the biggest stars in the film was Farrell appearing as classic villain The Penguin.
The character has done so well that Farrell is now getting his own spin-off TV series and one thing which consistently stuns viewers is how different the actor looks in the role.

Getting into character and costume takes a lot of time as Farrell wears plenty of prosthetics to play the portly villain, but the way he makes it work is central to his much-lauded performance.
As part of a behind the scenes look at making The Batman, fans got to see the actor laughing along in character and it was seriously disturbing in all the right ways.
While it took Farrell 'three and a half, maybe four hours' to get all his costume, hair, prosthetics and makeup done to be ready to go on camera, the effect was transformational.

In the footage, we get to see the star becoming an entirely different person and really making the role his own.
In the footage, he is seen trying out the character as he was asked in character: "Where are you from?"
To which Farrell replied: "You know where I'm from, what the f**k do you care where I'm from? Some of your business?
"Wanna know things about me? Why don't you send me a little email, I'll write you back real quick."

"Where do you live? Where do you live actually I can hand deliver a letter to you. I can hand deliver a letter to you."
He then laughed deeply and threateningly, and the snippet of footage has fans convinced he was absolutely the right choice to play The Penguin.
One person said Farrell was 'so believable it's scary' and they would 'not f**k with that Penguin', while a second said he was 'creepy' and they very much meant it as a compliment.

All that makeup and prosthetics put on to the point that he no longer looks like Colin Farrell and instead becomes this unsettling presence is a testament to how well he can play the role.
Today (31 May) is actually the actor's 47th birthday and he's having a very good time of it in his career right now, as not only was he highly praised for his work on The Batman and is working on his spin-off, he also starred in the incredible The Banshees of Inisherin.
