The incident quickly escalated, as the comedian was admitted to the hospital with a fractured skull.
However, come Tuesday (8 February) McDonald seemed to have recovered, at least mentally, as she shared the clip online in good humour.
“When you faint on stage after you brag about being vaccinated,” she wrote over a video of the incident originally shared on her Juicy Scoop podcast.

Ironically, McDonald was joking about her good health just moments before she fainted, as she has yet to contract Covid and is ‘vaxxed, double vaxxed’ and ‘boosted’.
“Clearly Jesus loves me the most, seriously,” she said before a cruel twist of fate resulted in her collapsing.
McDonald captioned the video: “I fainted on stage and fractured my skull in front of a sold-out show at the @tempeimprov. What do you think caused it?”
A rep for McDonald told People: “[She] was admitted to a local hospital where a comprehensive work up [is] under way.

“Thus far the test has revealed no underlying medical issues that may have precipitated this event.”
Her rep also noted that McDonald managed to get through her performance the night before without injuring herself, and she hadn’t consumed any alcohol before or during Saturday's show.
Audience members told TMZ the comedian had collapsed after making jokes about being vaccinated and never catching Covid, leading many to believe her fall was all part of the act.

Thankfully, an EMT (emergency medical technician) and nurse were in the audience, as they both rushed to the stage to provide first aid.
In other standup news, there have been calls to boycott Jimmy Carr over his incredibly controversial joke about travellers.
In the clip, which is circling around social media, Carr told the audience: "Strap in everyone, you ready?"
He begins the joke with: "When people talk about the Holocaust, they talk about the tragedy and horror of six million Jewish lives being lost to the Nazi war machine.

"But they never mention the thousands of gypsies that were killed by the Nazis.
"No one ever talks about that because no one wants to talk... about the positives."
Over 18,000 people have now signed a petition to boycott the comedian for his 'truly disturbing' joke.
