Rarely seen daughter of famous actor FaceTimes mum to prove her 'most famous contact'

"She looks just like her mum."

The daughter of a beloved UK star has shocked a presenter when she was asked who her most famous contact was.

The presenter of INVADES, a platform for student events across the UK, couldn't believe her luck when she was interviewing guests at a race event earlier this week.

In a video shared on their Instagram, the host innocently asked several guests what was their claim to fame, with one interviewee casually revealing her identity as the daughter of a Doctor Who star.

Asked who her most famous contact was, the 22-year-old proceeded to say 'My mum', and then make an impression of her famous parent by repeating her catchphrase.

"Am I bovvered? I’m not bovvered but you are!" Erin said, a one-liner which the host immediately recognised.

Pretty good impression, if you ask us. (

For proof, Erin decided to FaceTime her mum, who, if you haven't guessed it by now, is Catherine Tate. "Am I bovvered?" is the famous catchphrase said over and over by Lauren Cooper, one of the characters Tate played in The Catherine Tate Show.

When Catherine picked up, Erin explained her mum was in Los Angeles, 'living the life'.

"Say hi," Erin told her mum.

"I can't believe you, cause we're on the freeway," Tate replied.

"She's got better things to do than being at the races apparently," Erin added before leaving her mum to her LA engagements.

"Well, thanks for showing up, mum. Love you!"

Fans of Tate flocked to the Instagram page, with one person writing: "Aww I love Catherine Tate."

"Nah that’s a flex, Catherine Tate is your mum," a second fan wrote, with a third person agreeing: "Thats a flex her mums a legend."

Someone else pointed out the resemblance between Erin and the Donna Noble star, commenting: "She looks just like her mum," while someone else offered: "She sounds a bit like her mum".

Tate returned as the Doctor's companion Donna Noble opposite David Tennant for the show's 60th anniversary, which celebrated the sci-fi series with three episodes aired between 25 November and 9 December 2023.

Tate has more recently been seen on telly in comedy series Going Dutch, airing on Fox in the US. The show stars Denis Leary as US Army Colonel Patrick Quinn, reassigned to a base in the Netherlands — dubbed the least important Army base in the world — after going on an offensive rant. Tate plays Dr Katja Vanderhoff, a local woman who Patrick becomes interested in.
