Hollywood seems to be slowly grinding to a halt as the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike continues, with movies being put on hold as creatives continue to picket studios to demand higher pay.
As a result, movie studios like Disney, Marvel, and more have delayed a number of projects in a massive reshuffle of the movie release schedule calendar.
Well, all but one.

It's Deadpool 3. Or 'the little movie that could', apparently.
Just like its fast-healing and nearly-bulletproof lead character Wade Wilson (played by Ryan Reynolds), the film is bouncing back in the face of adversity.
Deadpool 3 has been officially brought forward from 8 November 2024 to 3 May 2024, which pretty much tracks with the unpredictable tone of the off-the-wall superhero franchise, to be honest.

That's a massive 189 days.
Or six months and five days, depending on how you want to look at it.
But this isn't the first time Deadpool 3 has had its release date fiddled with.

The third movie in the franchise was initially scheduled for release on 6 September 2024.
It was pushed back to 8 November 2024 before now being brought forward again to May 3 of the same year.
The update is music to our ears and is almost as sweet as when Reynolds revealed he and his arch frenemy Hugh Jackman would pair up for the third movie, with the Aussie star returning as Wolverine.
The shuffle is particularly impressive as Deadpool 3 only began filming in May 2023.

So, that leaves the movie with just under a year to film and to prepare for its release instead of its the original 18 month plan.
Impressive.
But if anyone can pull a rabbit out of their backside, it's Wade Wilson.
As per Marvel's previous plan, 3 May 2024 was supposed to be the premiere date for Anthony Mackie's first solo foray into his take of Captain America.

That movie has been retitled by the way. It’ll be called Captain America: Brave New World, and will now hit cinemas on 26 July 2024.
A few new titles were added to the lineup of upcoming projects in Hollywood.
According to Variety, Disney shook up its release calendar to add a new Star Wars movie to the mix as well as moving around several others.
Disney's live-action Moana will now be released on 27 June 2025.
An untitled Star Wars movie will hit cinemas on 18 December 2026.
Plus, the upcoming follow-up Avatar films have all been pushed back.
Avatar 3 has shifted to 19 December 2025, Avatar 4 to 21 December 2029, and Avatar 5 to 19 December 2031.
We crunched the numbers at the LADbible office and, by our calculations, that means James Cameron's CGI epic will wrap up 22 years after the original 2009 blockbuster.
Ooft.
