It’s usually parents spilling the beans about their kids, but Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade Mathers has opened up about her ‘surreal’ childhood with her famous father.
Unlike like other children, Hailie’s early years were spent surrounded by tour buses, celebrities and at Pistols games with her dad.
The 27-year-old even admitted that she thought how she grew up was ‘normal’ until she became an adult, while chatting on her podcast Just A Little Shady.
With the title referencing Eminem's alter ego, Slim Shady (see what she did there, eh?), the first episode of the podcast opened with Hailie addressing what she called ‘the elephant in the room’.

“I want this to be a place where I can share more about my life and talk about things I’ve never talked about,” she explained as she sat with her childhood best friend, Brittany Ednie.
It wasn’t long before Hailie revealed what life was like with a Grammy awards winner as her dad.
“Elementary school we were like always travelling,” Hailie revealed to listeners, adding she’d often invite her best friend to the luxury trips.

“It was like there was something going on that I was like Brittany need to come to this."
Despite being less ten years old, the pair would ended up travelling across the US together on Eminem's tour bus.
Brittany even remembers the first time Hailie showed her the bus, with an adult telling them off for speaking so casually about it.
“Somebody was with us and they were like 'Hailie Jade not everyone knows what a tour bus is'," Brittany said.

Having gone to a regular school and been sheltered from the spotlight by her dad, Hailie assumed everyone lived like this.
“I had so many normal experiences that when something like that happened, I though everyone else does this too,” she admitted.
“Thinking back as an adult I’m actually like wow that actually was so surreal… me just thinking those were normal.”

Brittany also ended up having a rather unique childhood, as she was allowed to accompany her friend on tour because her mother knew she could not give her the same experiences.
It wasn’t the just tour buses though as the girls regularly went to Pistols games with Hailie’s dad as well as being treated to a day out to Disneyland.
Arriving by limo (of course), they had a princess tea party and Eminem even ensured the girls had matching Belle outfits waiting for them at the theme park.

“At the time, we were so happy and so excited, but we didn’t appreciate the moment as now when we talk on it and think back," Hailie admitted.
