Eminem Refused To Perform At The Super Bowl If He Couldn't Bring 50 Cent

According to N.O.R.E, Eminem wasn't going to play the Super Bowl if he couldn't bring 50 Cent.

According to rapper N.O.R.E, it was Eminem that pushed to have 50 Cent on the Super Bowl halftime stage.

50 Cent's appearance at what was dubbed the 'greatest Super Bowl halftime show ever' was a surprise to many, with the Candy Shop rapper performing alongside Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige to rave reviews.

Now, N.O.R.E has claimed that Eminem said he wouldn't have performed the show if his long-time friend Fiddy wasn't there with him.

Speaking on the Drink Champs podcast on 16 April, N.O.R.E sat down with Snoop Dogg to discuss the iconic halftime show.

N.O.R.E relayed a conversation he had with Jay-Z about the performance, explaining, "I said to Jay-Z, I have to ask this straight up. ‘Who is gonna perform at the NFL?'"

Jay-Z allegedly replied: "The white guy called for 50 Cent."

N.O.R.E then questioned: "Who is the white guy? [Beats co-founder and Interscope Records founder] Jimmy Iovine?"

Jay-Z is said to have replied: "No, Eminem called directly for 50 and he said 'I can’t do it if I can’t bring 50 with me'."

"That’s spiritual," N.O.R.E noted, before Snoop chimed in: "Of course, that’s his guy! And guess who’s Dre’s guy? It’s me!"

Everyone in the room then proceeded to clap, because honestly, the rappers looking out for one another deserves a little celebration.

So, there you have it, Eminem reportedly went to bat for 50, and we'd expect nothing less.

The result, of course, was the most iconic halftime show ever seen, with fans taking to Twitter to revel in the moment.

"I didn't even know 50 Cent was even in the roster. That came outta nowhere," one fan wrote.

Another added: "50 CENT AT THE HALFTIME SHOW AND HE DID THE UPSIDE DOWN IN DA CLUB INTRO... 5TH GRADE ME IS THRIVING RIGHT NOW."

A third wrote: "50 Cent upside down is the highlight of the Super Bowl so far."

Another user said: "I think I speak for everyone when I say that that was the GREATEST Super Bowl halftime show of ALL TIME.'

Even Lady Gaga chimed in on the conversation, adding: "THAT WAS A BOMB OF RADICAL LOVE THANK YOU #SuperBowl HALFTIME SHOW!! Incredible!! That’s what it’s all about!"

The incredible show took place in Los Angeles with fans gathering to watch the Cincinnati Bengals face off against the LA Rams.

While fans came for the football, they were definitely preoccupied by the 'rap supergroup' that stole the spotlight.
