Euphoria star Chloe Cherry has opened up about her past career in porn in an incredibly candid interview that talks about her reasons for getting into it, and her family's reaction.
Making her acting debut in the second season of the HBO smash Euphoria, the 24-year-old has been a revelation as recurring character Faye - often seen hanging out at drug dealers Fezco and Ashtray's house in the show.
However, the actor's path to the teen drama has come via the adult film industry and with the inevitable chatter around that on the rise, she's taken recently to explaining her experiences and motivations around being involved.

Speaking on the podcast The Viall Files to host Nick Viall, Cherry explained that it was her incredibly guarded upbringing that pushed her towards a fascination with sex and ultimately the porn industry.
Cherry actually grew up in an Amish community - a religious subset of people who don't believe in sex before marriage.
“I started watching a lot of porn when I was younger because of the fact I wanted to see a world where people actually like to have sex and actually just admit that sex feels good and we want to do it," she said.

She added: “I feel like maybe I wouldn’t have been as into sex if people weren’t so anti-sex. That’s what we were taught in school, that abstinence is key and all this weird stuff, and I had these weird ideas about sex.”
Cherry would go on to start her porn career in 2015 and eventually appear in over 200 adult films. Unsurprisingly, her sexually conservative family were not so thrilled with the idea.
Although saying eventually became ok with it over time, Cherry said that initially 'they were really, really mean'.
"It took a while for them to really realize what they were doing and that they were participating in 'whorephobia'."

Nevertheless, Cherry spoke fondly of her time in the porn industry and also touched on her relationship with several sugar daddies during the period.
She explained that it's "kind of like dating except you’re dating for different reasons because they are providing something for you, so you’re dating based off of what they’re providing for you”.
Earlier in the year, Cherry had revealed that she'd appeared in a porn parody of Euphoria before appearing on the show.

At the time, people suggested the show's creator Sam Levinson cast her after seeing the film, but she shut down the rumour in a recent interview with Paper Magazine, explaining it happened while Euphoria was delayed due to the pandemic.
“I just don’t like anybody hating on him" she added, "He’s super professional and helped me a lot. All my interactions with him have just been really lovely.”
