It’s not uncommon for directors to cast ex-porn stars in roles on the big screen, but when it comes to Chloe Cherry and her career pre-Euphoria, she actually credits it for her newfound fame.
Cherry, who has starred in the hit HBO series since 2022, plays Faye Valentine, alongside famous faces like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi.
Playing a drug addict who ends up in a controversial relationship with a Nazi, it’s safe to say that there’s nothing in life that could have prepared her to work in that situation.
However, she has recently revealed that her time in the adult industry is the reason she’s been able to settle into being an actress on a reputable filming set.

If you didn’t know, Cherry was a celebrity in her own right before she was known as Faye.

In fact, she had her own dedicated fanbase, who were all followers of her raunchy flicks – which led Cherry to decide one thing after being cast by Euphoria’s creator Sam Levinson.
She was going to be proud of her past.
Speaking with Glamour Magazine, Cherry explained that she came into the cast knowing she was going to keep her existing fame in sight, and not hide it.
“I was already on ‘Famous Birthdays, if that makes any sense,” she said. “I already had a fan base of people who were fans of my porn or my Instagram.”
“I know that not every single person in the world had heard of me, but I was already too well known,” the star added. “Why would I build this amazing career, that I'm so proud of and that I worked so hard for, just to leave it behind and pretend I'm a different person? No one's going to believe that.”

“This is something that I say partially to be funny, but also partially true a little bit, is that being a porn star from the ages of 18 to 22 was almost like going to film school for free, where instead I came out with a bunch of money in my bank account and zero debt,” she then joked.
However, Cherry said she doesn’t recommend others go the same route, telling the outlet: “But I don't want to put out some kind of idea out there like: ‘Oh, if you want to go to film school, just do porn instead!' 99 percent of people are not going to enjoy being a porn star.”
For her, she said she is ‘a very specific person’, and ‘literally learned a lot about just the basics of making a film’ during her time in the adult industry.
She said it ‘did really help me later on being on bigger sets’.
But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, as Cherry came out to reveal as season three was kicking off, telling Out Magazine: “If you're OK with being seen as a porn star for the rest of your life, that is the only reason that you should enter the adult entertainment industry... never to do other things.”
However, this is something the actress is okay with.
Will there be a Euphoria season four?

Eagle-eyed fans will have noticed the latest episode of Euphoria is being advertised as a ‘season finale’, not a ‘series finale’ - does this mean Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and series creator Sam Levinson might come back for more?
Prior to the season three premiere, Levinson told Variety there were ‘no plans’ for another season, but added the caveat that he thought the previous two seasons of Euphoria would be the final ones too.
Similarly, Zendaya was asked on The Drew Barrymore Show if season three would be Euphoria’s final outing, and she said: “I think so, yeah. That closure is coming.”
But with the third season outperforming season two in terms of viewership and dominating conversation online, could Levinson and Zendaya be tempted back?
One person who presumably won’t be returning is Jacob Elordi, whose character Nate Jacobs met a gruesome end in the penultimate episode.
He said: “Nate is somebody who’s made so many mistakes and so many dark choices, it’s cool to see it all come to what it’s come to.”
