Ewan McGregor is a Scottish actor, best known for his roles in Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge!, Lo imposible and a string of Star Wars sequels.
The 51 year old was born in Perth, Scotland to Carole Diane and Charles James Steward. Both were teachers but it was really his uncle who inspired a lifelong commitment to acting. His uncle, Denis Lawson has appeared in the Star Wars trilogy as Wedge Antilles. You may also recognise him from The Merchant of Venice and BBC One’s Jekyll.
McGregor has been praised for his compassion after condemning the ‘horrendous’ racism his Star Wars co-star, Moses Ingram received on Instagram. Ingram took to instagram to highlight some of the racist comments and messages she had received since the show was dropped on Disney + on Friday 27 May.
