A young Ewan McGregor 'chose love' by kissing a host during an interview - but unfortunately the crowd weren't best pleased.
Take a look at the moment he was booed for the affectionate display:
The throwback clip shows the Trainspotting star when he was just 24 years old as he appears on Chris Evans' 90s classic TFI Friday.

Although he was only in the early years of his acting career, Evans could see his guest was 'going to be a big star'.
The host tells McGregor: "So you're 24 years old, you're going to be a big star. Are you ready for it?"
A rather bashful looking McGregor modestly replies: "I'm 24 years old and going to make a film in America, that's all."
But Evans insists he's going to make it, adding: "You're going to be a big star, you're described as one of the finest actors in Britain today."

The statement generates a loud cheer from the crowd, with Evans adding, "We hope you remember this as one stepping stone along the way."
McGregor then jokes, "I'll always remember you as being my biggest stepping stone, Chris," before the pair embrace and share a cheeky kiss.
Despite the cute aside, guests started booing them and McGregor jokes that he's 'sorry' for swearing earlier in the interview.
In all honesty though, it's mad to think that less than three decades ago, two men would be booed on telly for sharing an innocent smooch.

Clearly the online community agrees.
The segment was recently shared by TikTok user @labrat44, who captioned the clip: "The way his smile dropped... don't apologise king!"
They also described the booing as 'homophobic'.

Hundreds of people have taken to the comments section to slam the reaction, with one writing: "Why is the crowd so dry and aggressive?"
"The way he had to pull his hand away is so sad," said another, while a third added, "This crowd definitely doesn’t pass the vibe check."
A fourth chimed in: "It was so funny and wholesome. Instantly ruined by the crowd."
Others took the opportunity to share a bit of appreciation for McGregor, who as we all know has lived up to Evans' prophecy by becoming one of the most famous actors in Hollywood - he's Obi-Wan Kenobi, for crying out loud.

"I only booed cuz it wasn’t me," quipped one TikToker, with another suggested that the only reason they 'deserved boos' is because 'it's not fair' that the host got to kiss the actor.
Referencing his Star Wars fame, a third said: "Imagine booing Obi-Wan... I would be embarrassed."
