A first look has dropped at Christian Bale as Frankenstein’s monster and whilst it may be dream casting, everyone’s pointing out the same thing.
Bale will be playing the iconic movie monster in The Bride, dropping in 2025 from director and actor Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Gyllenhaal starred in The Dark Knight alongside Bale, and will now be directing him in her follow up to critically acclaimed film, The Lost Daughter.

He looks like Jared Leto’s Joker.
A reply to the first look on X said: “Is that a Leto Joker esque “HOPE” tattoo on his chest?”
Once you see it, it can’t be unseen.
Another posted: “Who keeps using Leto Joker for costume inspiration?”

One final reply said: “Hope it's the new ‘damaged’.”
Leto’s Joker, for David Ayer’s critically panned Suicide Squad film, was widely mocked for having “damaged’ tattooed across his forehead.
Leto’s version of the character was covered in tattoos – so, you can understand the comparisons to Bale’s monster.
Bale will star opposite Jessie Buckley, who will lead the film as The Bride of Frankenstein.

This is the latest Christian Bale body transformation, as the former Batman actor has been known to fluctuate wildly for his roles in the past.
For his role as Dick Cheney in Vice, the actor gained a large amount of weight, where he said: “It was more fun gaining the weight than losing it!”
Most famously, Bale lost an insane amount of weight for 2004’s The Machinist, where he weighed in at just 120lbs.
Shortly after this, the actor packed the pounds back on – adding 30lbs of muscle in order to play Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
Regardless of what you think of the new look at Bale as Frankenstein’s monster – I think we can all agree, the actor has an unmatched commitment to changing his body for whatever role he is in.
