But perhaps more exciting for fans of the series, it also boasts a return of the remaining members of the original crew: Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson, who also appeared in Afterlife.
While there's no official plot been released, by the looks of the trailer, New York is in for one hell of a cold snap, with a terrifying spirt descending on the city.
So frightening is this 'death chill' that it literally scares people stiff.

And in a situation like that, who you gonna call, right? (Sorry, I had to).
Joining the star-studded cast are newcomers to the franchise, Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster and Emily Alyn Lind.
The long-awaited movie was written following the Afterlife reboot by Jason Reitman Gil Kenan and Aykroyd.
Speaking about the sequel previously, Kenan, who directed it, said: “It’s an absolute honor to pick up the proton pack and step behind the camera for the next chapter of the Spengler family saga.

"One of my favs ever since. After disappointing sequel and reboot, I LOVED Afterlife. This looks like it will be another awesome installment. Can’t wait!"
While someone else added: This looks even more amazing than I ever anticipated. This is what @JasonReitman was building towards with Ghostbusters: Afterlife... I couldn't be more excited! Can't wait for March 2024."
