There's a hard days work, and then there's a day on the set of The Human Centipede.
It's a struggle for viewers not to shut their eyes, recoil in horror and run out of the room when watching one of the nightmare-inducing films, so just imagine how the actors who had to shoot the movies felt.
In fact, you don't have to imagine, as one cast member spilled the beans to British DJ and TV presenter Alex Zane about what really went down during production, as well as the part that was particularly 'horrible' to film.
The unnamed actor shared some behind the scenes secrets with her famous pal, who then decided to pass them onto us lot during an appearance on JaackMaate's Happy Hour podcast in 2023.

While chatting away with hosts Jack Dean and Stevie about everything film-related, including the Star Wars franchise and Rotten Tomatoes scores, the lads moved onto some of the most traumatising movies ever made.
Enter The Human Centipede franchise.
For those who didn't give into their curiosity to find out what the flicks are all about, let's fill you in a bit - even though I'm sure you can make a sound guess about its contents from the title.
The first of the series, which dropped in 2009, follows a deranged German surgeon who kidnaps three tourists and conjoins them surgically, mouth to anus, forming a 'human centipede'.

The world really could have gone without any follow-ups, but instead, we got two even grosser sequels.
In the second, released in 2011, shows a Brit copycat who was inspired by the first instalment creating his own version of the 'centipede', but this time, there's 12 people.
The third and final part of The Human Centipede then tells the tale of a psychopathic prison warden and his accountant who use inmates to create their 'centipede'.

All very dark and disturbing stuff, as you can gather - and it wasn't a barrel of laughs on set, either.
Zane, 45, explained that although a lot of film fans probably presume 'everyone is really careful' on set while shooting this kind of film, his pal from the second movie says otherwise.
"You've got to imagine when you're doing that, you think, well on set, everyone is really careful," he told the podcast. "It's all done very professionally because it's such a graphic and grotesque thing.
"And she said, 'Yeah, no'."

He said that although the actor was informed everyone involved in the centipede would have 'special pants to wear', but they didn't protect their modesty very well, as they were 'paper thin'.
Zane continued: "So you really did have your face... she was in the human centipede, yeah.
"And she said it was horrible because you do have your nose in between the buttocks of the person in front of you - with very, very little protection."

One of the interviewers then joked: "I'd be putting some Lynx Africa down there in the morning."
Ashley C Williams, who starred in the first edition of The Human Centipede as Lindsay, previously revealed that the 'number one question' she is asked by fans is whether anyone 'farted in her mouth'. Yuk.
If you were wondering, the answer, thankfully, is no.
She told The Guardian in 2020: "We were very respectful of one another.
"The infamous scene where the character at the front of the centipede has to relieve himself was filmed in one take and took 10 seconds. It was easy but I was grateful Tom [the film's director] didn't film it for longer than he had to."
Anyone else feeling a little queasy?
