Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman are set to star in a new thriller, but fans are already creeped out by the film’s premise.
Last year, it was revealed that the Wednesday star would be teaming up with 52-year-old Freeman on a Point Grey Pictures production.
The latter was founded by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg way back in 2011, and is responsible for co-producing Sausage Party, The Disaster Artist and Adele Lim’s Joy Ride.

However, their next offering is arguably their darkest yet.
Having been picked up by Lionsgate Films back in 2022, the film has been written and directed by Jade Halley Bartlett.
You’re dying to know what the film is right?

Well, the forthcoming project is called Miller’s Girl, and you can get a taste from the first trailer below:
The drama movie sees Freeman starring as Jonathan Miller, a teacher and failed writer.
The educator teaches student Cairo Sweet (Ortega), who he later sets a creative task for.

However, after Cairo completes the assignment, she and her teacher enter into a dark, tumultuous relationship.
Of course, the teacher-student trope isn’t new - what with May December recently being released via Sky.
However, some viewers have taken to social media to discuss the Miller’s Girl age gap.
One X (formerly Twitter) user said: “Do they have to make another student and teacher kind of movie… We have enough of those.”

A second commented: “I speak for everyone when I say we won’t be watching this mess.”
Another said: “What’s Hollywood’s obsession with romanticising inappropriate behaviour for entertainment purposes???
“We’ve seen the teacher + student trope many times before… can writers come up with something else?”

“Yay another movie about a Teacher preying on their student, we really needed this as a society,” said a fourth.
However, many more film fanatics are excited to see Freeman and the 21-year-old actor in action together.
One viewer said: “Miller's Girl is not even out yet and I’m already worshipping her.”
“Sounds intriguing! Excited to see Jenna Ortega in another new role! And always great to watch Martin Freeman’s work,” said a second.
Another commented: “If you think this sounds disgusting, yes that's probably the entire point of the movie.”
A fourth said: “People in the comments are acting like these two actors were forced to play their roles for this movie... At the end of the day, this is just a film with actors playing fictional characters. Nothing else.”
If Miller’s Girl does sound right up your street, then you’ll be able to catch it in cinemas from January 2024.
