Much to the delight of fans, the trailer for Joker 2, titled Joker: Folie à Deux, has finally dropped.
And I think we can all agree, if you didn’t want to see it before (why not?) – you want to now. Check it out:
The trailer gives us our first look at Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga.

She is joining the returning Joaquin Phoenix who is stepping back into the shoes of Joker after having won an Oscar for Best Actor in 2020.
The first Joker was expected to be a hit – but no one could have predicted how massive it went.
Grossing over a billion at the box office, 12 Oscar nominations, and being about the only film people talked about for months – a sequel was always bound to happen.
Gaga’s addition as Harley Quinn is an inspired one, as she takes over the massive shoes of Margot Robbie who played the role in three separate DC films.

Gaga, however, is the perfect choice for the role for one key reason.
Joker 2, aka Joker: Folie à Deux, is going to be a musical.
Variety, who broke the news that the film would be a jukebox musical, said: “Insiders privy to filming and early versions of Todd Phillips’ eagerly awaited sequel to Joker tell Variety the movie leans heavily towards being ‘mostly a jukebox musical,’ as it integrates at least 15 reinterpretations of 'very well-known' songs.

“One is said to be 'That’s Entertainment' from the 1953 musical 'The Band Wagon,' famously associated with Judy Garland.”
Todd Phillips, who directed The Hangover and War Dogs prior to Joker, is set to return to direct the second film.
Fans are beyond excited having seen the trailer.
One said on X (formerly known as Twitter): "God damn what a beautiful trailer."

Another added: "Looks so good. I didn't think a sequel was needed but now I want this film injected in my veins."
Speaking at Cinemacon, director Todd Phillips said 'Joker 2 is a movie where music is an essential element, but doesn't veer too far from the first film' according to DiscussingFilm.
As well as Gaga and Phoenix, Zazie Beetz will return from the first film, and will be joined by Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Ken Leung, and Steve Coogan (no really, that Steve Coogan).

The trailer confirms the fact that the film will be a musical, as well as previewing the budding romance between Harley Quinn and The Joker.
Releasing 4 October, I think we can all agree, after that trailer we are all f**king hyped for it to drop.
