At the end of the day film is subjective, and nothing hits home that point like a new Netflix comedy getting a higher Rotten Tomatoes score than The Godfather.
The Netflix film in question isn’t some new Oscar-competing movie, or a soon to be cult classic which is being talked up as the next Superbad.
No, the film in question is a Christmas comedy, about a hot snowman come to life.

Somehow the film, that is dissapointingly not called Frosty the f**kable snowman, has got a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, which fans have noticed exceeds the Francis Ford Coppola gangster classic’s near-perfect 97%. Here’s the trailer:
The comedy is called Hot Frosty, and it does exactly what it says on the tin, it’s about a smoking hot snowman come to life.
Netflix’s newest hit has shot to the top of their charts in the UK, overtaking fellow Christmas release Meet Me Next Christmas.

Clearly, despite pleas against it, Christmas has officially kicked into gear this year.
The Netflix comedy stars Dustin Milligan as well as Mean Girl alumnus Lacey Chabert, as well as Brooklyn 99 duo Craig Robinson and Joe Lo Truglio.
It also features Selling Sunset breakout star Chrishell Strause, who is making her first major foray into acting.

Hot Frosty has debuted with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with 11 reviews so far, with people on twitter making the realisation of what that places it above.
The writer of the comedy Russell Hainline was clearly shocked by the news, saying: “um… holy sh*t. HOT FROSTY is 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.”
He went on to jokingly add: “take that, THE GODFATHER!!!”
The 100% puts it above The Godfather, Shawshank, and even the greatest film of all time, Paddington 2.

Adrian Horton of The Guardian gave the film a positive review in a way that at the very least acknowledges what many of us are probably thinking, that the idea is bizarre.
They said: “It’s a sincerely stupid idea executed sincerely, with seemingly complete buy-in from all involved that yes, this is a movie about a snowman with abs. I’ll take that type of brain freeze, for now.”
Katie Rife of IGN had similar praise, saying: “A self-aware Christmas rom-com with calculated ‘shirtless moments,’ Hot Frosty is frothy entertainment that isn’t supposed to be taken seriously.”

Courtney Howard of Variety also gave the film a positive rating, saying in her review: “The narrative delivers some refreshing highlights for the benefit of Netflix’s Holiday Cinematic Universe, specifically acknowledging its target audience’s yearning for a sprinkling of cheeky, wanton lust alongside its gentle yet genuine dramatics.”
The film may be beating out The Godfather on Rotten Tomatoes, but I don’t think it’s quite meeting it in other metrics.
Hot Frosty has debuted with a rating of 5.8/10 on IMDb, which is just shy of The Godfather’s second place on the platform 9.2. Who knows though, there’s still time and clearly Hot Frosty shouldn’t be counted out.
Hot Frosty is playing on Netflix now.
