Robert Downey Jr has picked up the Best Supporting Actor award at tonight's Oscars.
It's a case of third time lucky for the actor after he was first nominated for Best Actor all the way back in 1993 for his leading role in the film Chaplin about the legendary filmmaker.
He then picked up a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his performance as a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude in Tropic Thunder, though that year when Heath Ledger posthumously took the award for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight.

This time around his casting as Lewis Strauss for Oppenheimer has earned him a nomination and finally that win more than 30 years after his first Oscar nomination.
His performance in Oppenheimer, as the antagonistic politician who ultimately comes to feud with the scientist, was hailed by many as a career high, not least his fellow stars.
Cillian Murphy said it was an 'extraordinary experience' to work with Downey Jr and called him 'the most unpredictably brilliant actor' he'd worked with.

Murphy said: "A lot of the scenes I have with Downey, it was quite loose and quite improvisational. I mean, acting with him was just extraordinary.
"He's just electrifying, the most available engaged, present, unpredictably brilliant actor I've ever worked with."
The actor paid that compliment right back to his co-star by saying he'd 'never witnessed a greater sacrifice by a lead actor in my career' than the one Murphy gave for Oppenheimer.
There have been compliments all round for the performances in Oppenheimer, but it's really no surprise that that Downey Jr has finally ended up walking away with an Academy Award for his turn in the film.

Throughout the film we follow Strauss almost as much as we do Oppenheimer as their relationship falls apart and Downey Jr portrays the man's obsession with discovering what Oppenheimer and Einstein might have said about him.
While Cillian Murphy leads the cast of Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr gives as good as he gets in their scenes together, with the audience coming away as the true winner.
Downey Jr's win could herald a slew of awards for Oppenheimer, as the movie has been nominated for plenty of Oscars but until now has not picked up any gongs in its many categories.
