One of the stars of slasher flick Terrifier revealed she freaked out neighbours who overheard her audition tape and thought she was having 'really weird sex'.
If you're one of the lucky ones who has never crossed paths with Damien Leone's Terrifier franchise, let me enlighten you.
The films revolve around serial killer Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) who has a penchant for murdering his victims in the most gruesome and degrading ways.

And unfortunately for the residents of the fictional Miles County, New York, Art possesses the horror villain trope of being unkillable - which means he's able to keep coming back after being seemingly defeated in the previous film.
Casey Hartnett starred in 2022's Terrifer 2 in the role of Allie. With the role being for a gory horror film it won't surprise you to hear that Hartnett's auditions involved a lot of screaming, which made things particularly concerning for her next door neighbours.
Recalling the audition process in an interview with Round the Clock Frights, Hartnett explained how most of her auditions were 'self-tape'.

"I just did a self-tape," she said of her first audition, before going on to add that she and Lauren LaVera, who plays the role of protagonist Sienna, did a chemistry read together in person.
However the confusion came during her final audition, where Hartnett recalled having to film herself doing a 'screaming scene' from inside of her apartment in Brooklyn.
As you'd imagine, the walls aren't particularly soundproof in apartments - which meant the star's neighbours were left with concerns about her wellbeing.
"I'm in my apartment and I'm screaming b***dy murder and my neighbour comes and knocks on the door," she explains.

Awkward.
However Hartnett didn't seem embarrassed by the situation, adding: "Actually it was really funny. They were like 'I wasn't sure if you were getting murdered or having really weird sex'."
Although we're sure the neighbours would understand the excessive screaming once they watched the finished film.

It turns out that Hartnett's screaming audition is particularly important for the film as she suffers arguably one of the most horrifying deaths in the franchise.
After breaking into her home on Halloween, Art brutally attacks and skins a still alive Allie before pouring bleach and salt onto her body. The nauseating scene is then topped off by the fact that Allie's mother returns home to discover Art and her violently mutilated daughter and is also killed by the clown.
For anyone reading this and thinking 'this franchise sounds exactly up my street', you'll be pleased to know that Terrifier 3 is out on 11 October, with the film's premiere having nine confirmed walkouts.
