GTA 6 fans expecting second trailer after huge new Rockstar update

Will we finally get another update on the biggest video game of all time?

It is the most anticipated video game of all time and fans of GTA 6 are now desperately hoping Rockstar is about to release a brand new trailer following the latest sliver of 'hopium'.

Almost a year to the day, Rockstar officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI had been in the works for years and would finally be released in 2025.

Releasing a trailer for GTA 6 directly to YouTube, Rockstar gave fans 91 seconds of insight in to what we can expect from the latest update to the GTA universe.

Heading back to Vice City after spending GTA 5 in San Andreas, the fictional version of Miami, Florida, looks stunning in the trailer and could easily be mistaken for the real thing.

And since the trailer dropped? Radio silence.

Nothing has been said since it was released on 4 December, 2023, leaving video game fans demanding more as more time passes and the information void continues from Rockstar and parent company, Take-Two.

Now, the hopium (internet speak for irrational optimism) has reached a level that many believe could finally be the moment we get a second trailer.

Highlighting what they hope is a major change by Rockstar, one Reddit user clocked that the official YouTube account had been 'updated today' on 2 December.

"The playlist Rockstar put their GTA VI trailer one in was 'updated today,'" they wrote on Reddit with side eyes emojis.

Responding, one follower of the GTA 6 subreddit said: "This is the most credible hopium I've seen."

Another posted: "Why would they be tweaking the playlist randomly that has only trailer one so far? I too am huffing copious amounts of hopium now.

"Hope it isn't just some Rockstar employee accidentally clicking sh*t on their YouTube page and it registering as an update to page, lmao."

And a third said: "Tweaking it randomly after pretty much exactly a year since their first trailer was released? My spidey senses are tingling."

Given that 4 December is one year since the first trailer, it would be very apt for Rockstar to release a second instalment a year to the day.

In October, Take-Two confirmed when we can expect GTA 6 to be released following worries that it could be delayed until 2026.

Thankfully that isn't happening, with the update confirming 2025 was on the cards. And more than that, it said that it should be released in the run up to Christmas, saying it would be released 'in the fall', aka autumn.

Now we wait. Over to you, Rockstar.
