The actor who played Neil the Baby in Gavin and Stacey is set to feature in a new series of The Voice Kids this weekend.
Oscar Hartland, who starred as Nessa and Smithy’s baby son Neil in a number of episodes before returning in 2019 for the Christmas special, is now forging a career in music.
Since starring in the feature-length festive episode, 14-year-old Hartland has been very busy with life while preparing for those dreaded GCSEs.

Not only has been going viral on TikTok, where he has thousands of followers, he’s also frontman of a grunge rock band called Redwood City, who currently have three songs on Spotify - ‘The Way It Falls’, ‘Platonic Messages’ and ‘Picture Us’.
Speaking to Wales Online last year, Hartland – who handles vocals and guitar in the band – said: "Music is my thing at the moment, I'm loving it", he told Wales Online earlier this year.
"I want to do stuff like Guns n Roses, Queen, and the darkness. I also love DJing as well, I have some decks.”

Well, his next step is channelling his inner Dave Grohl, as he’s now set to audition for Will.i.am, Ronan Keating, Danny Jones and Pixie Lott on ITV contest The Voice Kids, where he is due to show off his skills with a rendition of ‘Hero’ by Foo Fighters.
Sharing the news on Instagram last night, he wrote: "Soooooo it's happening. So chuffed to be apart of the @thevoicekidsuk 2023. It was an absolute blast to film.
"Cant wait to show you guys what I've been up to the last few months!"

Speaking about the audition, which airs this weekend, Oscar told The Sun: “It was weird being on the studio stage without the band, but I thought I’d just do what I do with the boys and hopefully get a result out of it.
"I went into it wanting Danny to turn, or Ronan. But it was really something.”
He didn’t give much away about how well he did, meaning fans will have to tune in on Saturday at 7.30pm to see if Hartland makes it through to the next round.

Reflecting on his past acting success, Hartland said: “I grew up knowing I was Neil The Baby, but it was after the Christmas special [when he was 10] that my life literally turned around.
“I went from a kid that was in a show when he was a baby to a kid in a TV – even going into the supermarket was mad.”
